What A Home’s Age Might Tell You about Potential Remodeling Projects

The age of a home impacts the types of remodeling projects homeowners prioritize and the amount of money they might spend. That’s according to recent findings of the 2022 U.S. Houzz & Home Study. Inspiring Outdoor Design Trends

With the right creative vision, your outdoor spaces can become dynamic extensions of the home, encompassing everything from open-air kitchens and cozy fire pits, to swimming pools, sustainable water features, and even al fresco cinemas. With so much choice it can be difficult to know where to start. Here are some starting points to help elevate an ordinary garden into the outdoor space of your dreams.

Floor It!

When most people dream about renovating their homes, their minds automatically drift to the exciting aspects of the project, whether it’s the cabinetry and countertops in a kitchen, the vanity and enlarged shower in a master bathroom or the bold new paint colors in a living room. One piece of the remodel that might get overlooked at first—but is of critical importance, no matter what the space—is the type of flooring to choose.

Expert Advice for Building an Addition

The best starting point for an addition is a wish list. Start the list by asking what problems you want the project to solve (more space) and what goals you want it to achieve (better indoor-outdoor access for entertaining). Once you’ve made the list, rank the improvements in order of priority. Knowing the end result will help your builder or contractor plan accordingly for items such as wiring, plumbing, and location.
